Here private vehicle owners will find a clear explanation of how PHAD handles a mobile service call as well as detailed labor charges.
Our goal is to make the entire process streamlined and efficient: from service request to completion of the diagnosis.
PHAD operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Logistics:
- Fill out the Service Request Form to schedule a diagnostics service.
- ***Please DO NOT ERASE any trouble codes or reset the vehicle computer!***
- PHAD will arrange an appointment time, travel to your shop and perform the diagnosis on-site.
- Some vehicle problems will require more than one hour of diagnostic time. After the initial hour I will explain the progress and how much additional time could be required. The customer can approve further diagnostics or decline further work by PHAD.
- At the end of the diagnosis, PHAD will issue a recommendation for repair.
- The customer may request that PHAD also perform the repair on-site.
- Upon completion of diagnostics and repairs, PHAD will issue one invoice per vehicle. Payment is collected at time of service.
All Diagnostics and Repairs are covered by the PHAD 100% Guarantee.
Private Owner Rates:
Diagnostics Service Call: up to 1 hour diagnostics (single vehicle, one issue): $160
Additional Labor for Diagnostics & Repairs: $160/hr
*Additional diagnostics time may be required for time-consuming or intermittent issues,
i.e. CAN network troubleshooting, parasitic draw testing, wire harness tracing, etc.
*Minimum additional labor time is 0.5 hours for any repairs performed by PHAD after the initial diagnosis.
Travel Fee (round trip): if vehicle location is outside of State College, PA area: $100/hr
*Example: if vehicle is 30 minutes from State College, PA, a basic Diagnostics Service Call would cost $160 + $100 = $260.
Additional Labor for Diagnostics & Repairs: $160/hr
*Additional diagnostics time may be required for time-consuming or intermittent issues,
i.e. CAN network troubleshooting, parasitic draw testing, wire harness tracing, etc.
*Minimum additional labor time is 0.5 hours for any repairs performed by PHAD after the initial diagnosis.

Discounts:
PHAD offers discounts for multiple diagnostic jobs performed during a single service call:
Same vehicle, different problem: If the same vehicle has additional problems that need to be addressed during the service call, each separate issue will be billed as a minimum labor charge of $140 per issue ($20 savings vs. separate service call).
Different vehicle: If you have other vehicles that need a diagnosis during a single service call, each new vehicle will be billed $140 for the 1st hour ($20 savings vs. separate service call).
Same vehicle, different problem: If the same vehicle has additional problems that need to be addressed during the service call, each separate issue will be billed as a minimum labor charge of $140 per issue ($20 savings vs. separate service call).
