PHAD Philosophy: "Fix it Right the First Time!"
Like a doctor seeing a patient, we at PHAD firmly believe that a proper diagnosis is the critical first step to repairing any existing problem. As the business name implies, we focus on the diagnosis itself, and then provide an accurate recommendation for repair to be completed by PHAD or a third party, at the customer's discretion.
The traditional “guess and replace parts until it's fixed” approach, based solely on symptoms or trouble codes, is proving to be ineffective and prohibitively expensive for today's modern computerized vehicles. After several attempted fixes and comebacks, the original problem often still remains, and additional problems can be "built in" by unnecessary repairs! The vehicle owner is frustrated after wasting time and money, and often the vehicle is still not fixed.
At the end of the day, when the problem is efficiently diagnosed and repaired correctly the first time around with no guesswork, the customer is happy. The time and money spent on a professional diagnosis is a fantastic investment and pays for itself immediately in avoiding unnecessary labor and replacement of parts. Also, the customer will have confidence in the repair further down the road, because a thorough diagnosis addresses the underlying problem, not just the symptoms.

The Scientific Approach:
To accurately and efficiently pinpoint the problem, at PHAD we apply the scientific approach to automotive repair:
- Verify the complaint: This first step is often overlooked in the automotive repair field. The customer's complaint must be reproducible. If the problem is intermittent, it can be very difficult and time-consuming to trace.
- Diagnose the problem: Using both traditional and more sophisticated diagnostic tools (including OEM-level bi-directional scan tools, digital meters, an oscilloscope, etc.), we gather evidence in a systematic fashion to efficiently isolate and verify the fault.
- Repair the problem: Once the problem is known, a qualified technician should complete the recommended repair. In the case of an electrical wiring or sensor issue, PHAD can complete the repair on the spot (hourly labor charge applies).
- Verify the repair: If PHAD completes the repair, the verification/test drive is completed on-site. If the repair is completed by a third party, and the problem still remains, then PHAD will perform a follow-up diagnosis free of charge. However, if the repair is found to be incorrect, a separate diagnostic charge will apply. See the PHAD 100% GUARANTEE for details.
