Private Owner: Logistics & Rates

Here private vehicle owners will find a clear explanation of how PHAD handles an in-house or on-site diagnostic service request.

Our goal is to make the entire process streamlined and efficient: from service request to completion of the diagnosis.
PHAD operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Logistics:

  • Please fill out the Appointment Form to schedule a diagnostics service.
  • ***Please DO NOT ERASE any trouble codes or reset the vehicle computer!*** 
  • The problem MUST be present or easily recreated at time of Diagnosis Request.
  • If a Test Drive is required: vehicle MUST be Insured, Inspected, and Road-Worthy!
  • ***Extra charges will apply if gas tank is EMPTY or battery is DEAD!***
  • PHAD will arrange an appointment time by EMAIL for vehicle drop-off or on-site diagnostics.
  • Some vehicle problems will require more than one hour of diagnostic time. After the initial hour I will explain the progress and how much additional time could be required.  The customer can approve further diagnostics or decline further work by PHAD.
  • At the end of the diagnosis, PHAD will issue a recommendation for repair.
  • The customer may request that PHAD also perform the repair and verification.
  • Upon completion of diagnostics and repairs, PHAD will issue one invoice per vehicle. Payment is collected at time of service.

Private Owner Rates:

In-House Diagnostics:                                                                                                                                 $140/hr
In-House General Repairs:                                                                                                                          $120/hr

Mobile On-Site Diagnostics & Repairs:                                                                                                     $160/hr
Travel Fee (round trip, if vehicle location is outside of State College, PA area):                                 $120/hr
*Example: if vehicle is 30 minutes from State College, PA, a basic Diagnostics Service Call would cost $160 + $120 = $280.

Remote Diagnostics Consultation:                                                                                                             $140/hr
